Vnesheconombank Presents Awards to Young Vocalists of the Mariinsky Theatre

On March 13, 2008 Chairman of State Corporation’ Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ V.A. Dmitriev presented Vnesheconombank’s awards for the best performance in the season of 2006/2007 to soloists of the Academy of Young Opera Singers of the Mariinsky Theater Olga Pudova and Alexey Markov.

Olga Pudova received an award for the performance of the part of Rosina in Rossini’s opera “The Barber of Serville”, Alexey Markov – for the performance of the part of Jermon in Verdi’s opera “La Traviata”.

Vnesheconombank’s awards to Mariinsky Theatre soloists were founded in the year 2000. For more than eight years Vnesheconombank has been assisting the Academy of Young Singers of the Mariinsky Theatre: the Bank pays grants finances master classes given by outstanding singers and pedagogues, foreign languages classes and theatre arts.

Our laureates of the past years Larisa Yudina, Ilya Bannik, Irina Mataeva, Vladislav Sulimsky, Alexey Tanovitsky, Anastasia Belyaeva, Daniil Shtoda, Anna Kiknadze, Dmitry Voropaev, Victoria Yastrebova and Andrey Ilyushnikov have become recognized masters of opera school and gained worldwide recognition.

Vnesheconombank’s support for modern art, young talented artists, painters and musicians is one of the main lines of the Bank’s charitable activities. We see this support as a creative process aimed at upholding and and keeping alive great traditions of our domestic culture.
