Today, on May 21, State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank) and the Omsk region Government entered into an Agreement on Cooperation. The Agreement was signed by Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev and Omsk region Governor Leonid Polezhaev.
The Agreement aims to establish long-term strategic partnership and promote long-term effective and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides in investment activity.
Under the Agreement the two sides are determined to cooperate in raising funds to finance investment projects aimed at addressing top-priority objectives of developing the region and boosting its industrial potential. In particular, infrastructure projects and those designed to boost the region’s innovation potential are considered to be high-priority ones A list of projects is to be made on an annual basis in accordance with Vnesheconombank’s Memorandum on its Financial Policy and on the basis of the region’s socio-economic development priorities.
At present, a project aimed at building a petrochemical complex to manufacture polypropylene, bioethanol and products based on its processing is planned to be carried out in the region’s territory jointly with Omsk Region Administration and the Titan group of companies with the participation of Vnesheconombank.
Vnesheconombank is also interested in the Omsk Regional Ministry of Economics’ proposals to promote cooperation in considering infrastructure projects aimed at modernizing the water supply and water drainage system in the city of Omsk and developing the city’s infrastructure and etc.
The implementation of this Agreement would help raise the region’s economic level, boost its investment appeal and make the country’s economy more competitive as a whole.
