Working Group on Cooperation in the Financial Sector of the Joint Russian-Austrian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation Holds its Session

On May 29, 2008 the Working Group on Cooperation in the Financial Sector of the Joint Russian-Austrian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation chaired by Bank Austria Creditanstalt Executive Director Angelo Rizzuti and Vnesheconombank’s Department of Financial Institutions Director A.V. Zelenov held its session in Vienna.

In attendance were representatives of Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG, the Austrian Trade and Economic Chamber, the Austrian Control Bank, the Vienna Stock Exchange, UniCredit Leasing, Vnesheconombank, CJSC Roseximbank, OJSC Russian Development Bank, the Association of Regional Banks, VTB Bank (Austria) and the Russian Trade Representative Office in the Republic of Austria.

Participants in the session discussed issues of promoting cooperation between Russian and Austrian financial institutions, staging Russian Austrian events, holding interbank consultations as well as other issues of mutual interest.

Particular attention at the session was paid to staging the Day of Russian regional banks in Austria as well of running workshops in Russia on Austrian and Russian banks’ support for small and medium-sized business in the two countries.

The Russian-Austrian Working Group on Cooperation in the Financial Sector was established in 2003 in line with the resolutions of the 6^th session of the Joint Russian –Austrian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. The Working Group’s activity is coordinated by Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG and Vnesheconombank.
