Vnesheconombank and the Research Institute of Children’s Oncology and Hematology of the Russian Blokhin Cancer Research Center with the participation of the Socio-Cultural Initiatives Foundation chaired by the Russian President’s wife Svetlana Medvedev held the holiday ‘Sunny Day’ for children who recovered completely from a terrible disease.
The holiday was held in the Bread House of the State Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve. A concert and a celebratory lunch were given for the children. They also received gifts. During the official part of the event President of the Socio-Cultural Initiatives Foundation Svetlana Medvedev, Research Institute Director Mamed Aliev and Vnesheconombank First Deputy Chairman Anatoly Tikhonov addressed the audience.
Vnesheconombank is active in supporting the Research Institute of Children’s Oncology and Hematology by committing significant funds to it on an annual basis for purchasing high-technology medical equipment and by participating in the Institute patient rehabilitation programs. This year Vnesheconombank made available 7 million rubles to the Research Institute for purchasing surgical equipment for the clinic.
‘The Sunny Day” is a chance for the children and their parents to thank their doctors once more and visit exhibition and museum halls of the capital. The main idea behind the holiday is to make children believe that they can be cured completely and that cancer is not a death warrant bur a curable disease.
