On the Progress of Carrying out the Educational Project “Training of Specialists - Participants in Investment Projects Implemented with the Assistance of Development Institutions”

A master class was held at Vnesheconombank on March 30-31, 2010 under the Educational Project “Training of Specialists – Participants in Investment Projects Implemented with the Assistance of Development Institutions”.

Heads of finance and investment divisions of Moscow and regional companies, representatives of line regional ministries and departments participated in the master class. Among the speakers were heads and specialists of Vnesheconombank’s subdivisions, representatives of the Moscow International Higher School of Business, Mirbis  and  expert practitioners. Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman Irina Makieva delivered an opening address.

In the course of the master class the participants discussed the following issues: specifics of development institutions activities, principles and criteria for selecting projects at Vnesheconombank, terms of implementing projects with the use of public private partnership mechanisms. The participants in the master class listened to a course of lectures on strategic management and project management and took part in a practical training on making an investment application.

Given Vnesheconombank’s participation in the Working Group on Modernizing Mono Cities under the Governmental Commission on Sustainable Development of the Russian Economy, Federal Project Finance Center Deputy General Director Ilja Krivogov spoke about requirements for working out comprehensive investment plans for the development of mono- profile populated areas.

The Educational Project “Training of  Specialists – Participants in Investment Projects Implemented with the Assistance of Development Institutions” is designed to enhance professional development and expand a range of skills of those participating in the investment process  in preparing documentation and implementing investment projects including the ones carried out  with the use of public private partnership mechanisms. Vnesheconombank is the author of the Project’s concept and is providing expert support in the course of the Project’s implementation. Educational materials for training specialists were prepared by experts from the Russian Civil Service Academy under the President of the Russian Federation jointly with employees  from Vnesheconombank’s structural subdivisions. Lecturers and instructors are leading experts from research institutes and universities as well as Vnesheconombank’s executives and specialists.
