A meeting of the Russian part of the Russia-Brazil Council of Entrepreneurs chaired by Management Board Member – Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman Sergei Vasiliev was held at Vnesheconombank on April 20, 2010.
In attendance of the meeting were members of Russia-Brazil Council of Entrepreneurs, representatives of the business community as well as Russia’s governmental bodies and non-governmental organizations.
In the course of the meeting its participants summarized the results of the Council’s activity for 2009 as well as the results of the First BRIC Business Forum held in April of 2010 in the city of Rio- de Janeiro as part of the BRIC summit.
The meeting also discussed a number of organizational issues. Subject to the amendments introduced to the Statute of the Council a decision was taken to rename the Council as the Russia-Brazil Business Council.
The Russia-Brazil Council of Entrepreneurs was established in 2004 under the Trade and Industrial Chamber of the Russian Federation. In 2007, its activity was suspended due to the Council’s former executives’ voluntary resignation. The Council’s activity was resumed at an organizational meeting on February 11, 2009. Vnesheconombank was put in charge of the Council. Management Board Member – Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman Sergei Vasiliev was elected as Chairman of the Council.
