VEB.RF and Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) conducted a business mission in the Tula Region. The regional authorities presented their strategic initiatives for the region’s development.
“All business ideas considered by VEB.RF and ASI should be based upon a strong belief in their implementation in specific business projects thanks to VEB.RF’s and ASI’s support. Our goal is not only to discuss the idea, but also to bring it to life. We are scrutinising the success achieved by the Tula Region being a focus of attention,” said VEB.RF Chairman Igor Shuvalov.
As part of the business mission, development institutions conducted pitch sessions to present Tula’s development strategy for 2024-2026, including street maintenance, transport infrastructure, road repair, reconstruction of cultural and sports facilities, and revitalisation of the Upa river. The most promising area for the Tula Region authorities is the construction of schools, which requires VEB.RF’s support.
Other regional priorities include the TULGU defence campus project, which will help to attract defence specialists to the region, and the Kompositnaya Dolina innovative research and development centre, which will ensure Russia’s leadership in the chemical industry. Both projects have high potential to succeed, and VEB.RF will undoubtedly support them.
Igor Shuvalov and ASI’s General Director Svetlana Chupsheva also visited an exhibition of the Tula Region brands and participated in the wrap-up session, which presented regional projects for the upcoming Strong Ideas for a New Time forum.
VEB.RF and ASI conduct a series of business missions in Russian regions aiming to reveal new growth points in regional economies and prepare the Strong Ideas for a New Time forum. Business missions have already been conducted in the Kaliningrad and Lipetsk Regions, the Republic of Tatarstan, Veliky Novgorod and Irkutsk.
