Vnesheconombank Joins the Long Term Investors’ Club Organizing Committee

Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev was elected to the Organizing Committee of the Long Term Investors’ Club.

Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev’s election to the Club’s Organizing Committee would enable him to take an active part in the Club’s activities including accepting new members to the Club and developing mechanisms for implementing joint projects. The fact that Vnesheconombank was accepted to the Club’s Organizing Committee testifies to a high level of trust in Vnesheconombank.

The Chairman of Vnesheconombank also took part in the second annual conference of the Long Term Investors’ Club “Long-Term Investments in the Era of Globalization”, which was held on June 17, 2010 in the city of Rome.

Speaking at the conference V.Dmitriev stressed that in the near future the Club’s Organizing Committee would get down to implementing long-term projects and this undoubtedly would help to stabilize the economic and financial systems of the Club member states. The Chairman of Vnesheconombank said that one of the Club’s major objectives was to define the Club’s members’ common activity standards.

The establishment of the Long Term Investors’ Club was initiated in 2008 in order to exchange business experience, coordinate activities and promote joint initiatives of the largest financial institutions and organizations in the field of long-term projects and investments. Vnesheconombank has been the Club’s full member since June of 2009. The Club incorporates such financial institutions as Caisse des Depots et Consignations (France), Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Italy), KfW BankenGruppe (Germany), the European Investment Bank (EC), the China Development Bank (China), Mubadala (the United Arab Emirates) and others.

The Organizing Committee is the Club’s common executive body. It includes four permanent founding members of the Club (Caisse desDepots et Consgnations, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, KfW BankenGruppe, the European Investment Bank); four institutions out of the Club’s full members are also included in the Organizing Committee by way of voting conducted among the Club’s full members. They are elected for a period of two years.
