Vladimir Putin Proposes Mechanism for Public Projects Involving VEB.RF

At the Strong Ideas for the New Time Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin came up with a mechanism for socially significant projects:

“It is necessary to turn interesting, substantive ideas and proposals into viable projects with a team and an action plan, remove the administrative, legislative barriers, provide access to transparent sources of financing.

Headed by Mr Shuvalov, the Expert Council of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Expert has considerable experience in this area. Only while making preparations for the forum, you engaged nearly 900 experts, including people with competencies in project management, and helped to refine as many as a thousand best ideas suggested for the forum.

And it is absolutely essential to multiply this support. Therefore, I request that the Government, VEB.RF, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives should develop and launch a comprehensive mechanism for socially significant projects to address the needs of people. I suggest that every meeting of the Agency’s Supervisory Board should regularly evaluate how this model works, how many ideas receive support and how many are put into practice.”
