Vnesheconombank held a strategic session for representatives from the relevant ministries of the Novgorod Region and potential regional investors where it presented its new regional approach and revealed its investment priorities, as well as financial and non-financial tools employed at VEB Group.
“Together with our partners in the Novgorod Region, we have identified priority cooperation areas. We have also reviewed a number of projects that comply with VEB’s new strategy and strategic priorities of the region. In particular, these are projects on the construction of an industrial park, transformation of idle production facilities into industrial sites, production of pharmaceutical substances, and introduction of blockchain-based technologies. Furthermore, we have examined project finance options involving syndicated loans and public-private partnership mechanisms”, pointed out Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman - Member of the Management Board Pyotr Zolotarev.
“The Agreement allows us in the region to accomplish priority tasks in less time. It is not only the economic areas that we intend to develop in partnership with Vnesheconombank. The Agreement also provides for the sponsorship of social facilities in the Novgorod Region, primarily, homes for the elderly”, said Veronika Minina, Deputy Governor of the Novgorod Region.
To elaborate and approve road maps for the priority projects, a task group will be established to comprise representatives of Vnesheconombank and the Novgorod Government.
