Vnesheconombank Management Board has approved a new personal composition of the Expert Council for 2017-2018. Andrey Sharonov, President of Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, is nominated as Chairman of the Expert Council. A new operation mode and renewal of the Expert Council’s personal composition are designed to enhance the quality of expert evaluation for decisions taken at the Bank and Vnesheconombank’s contribution to the national social and economic development.
“The Expert Council has an increasingly important role to play in delivering on VEB 2.0 Strategy. Members of the new Expert Council are to take an active part in building a quality pipeline of projects. Currently, VEB is developing industry plans for each of its 26 sectoral priorities. Before the year is out, every sector will have a business plan approved. The next meeting of the new Expert Council will focus on the digital economy and innovations”, said Vnesheconombank Chairman Sergey Gorkov.
“We have managed to engage in the new Expert Council leading experts with a wide range of skills in VEB’s priority investment areas such as high-technology industries, infrastructure, innovations, and NTI projects. The reshaped Expert Council will serve as a recognized state-of-the-art forum to produce breakthrough ideas, as well as a competence centre to explore a wide range of VEB’s investment aspects. I am confident that a new operation mode of the Expert Council will enable us to efficiently accomplish our tasks and elaborate up-to-date proposals to ensure long-term economic growth”, pointed out Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman - Member of the Management Board Aleksey Ivanchenko.
The reshaped Expert Council have comprised representatives from research and educational establishments, development institutions, government authorities, and major companies. Overall, out of 23 members of the Expert Council, twelve are the new ones.
Functioning since 2008, Vnesheconombank Expert Council is aimed at ensuring an in-depth scientific analysis of the current state, trends and priorities of the global and national social and economic development. The Expert Council also produces recommendations for the Bank’s Management to take investment-related decisions. Traditionally, the Expert Council comprises distinguished scholars and prominent figures from the national expert community.
