VEB and Rosreestr to hold contest for blockchain solutions in real estate accounting and registration

Vnesheconombank is launching a federal project Blockchain Pitch in search for innovative companies eager to set up and work on pilot blockchain-based projects in cooperation with public agencies and state corporations.

Project solutions in real estate accounting and registration will be selected by VEB and the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (Rosreestr) in partnership with the global blockchain leaders Ethereum, BitFury and Waves. MISiS National University of Science and Technology (NUST MISiS) will act as a technological partner of the contest.

Vnesheconombank as a development institution is a coordinator of pilot projects on blockchain adoption in the public sector.

VEB is a member of a working group for blockchain application in public and corporate governance headed by First Vice Prime Minister of Russia Igor Shuvalov.

Eligible for participation in the Blockchain Pitch contest are companies with available prototype solutions for the real estate market.

To take part in the contest, companies are invited to send their applications together with project descriptions. Applications are to be filed prior to 25 August. The finalist teams will be permitted to present their projects to the Vnesheconombank Centre of Blockchain Competencies, as well as to test their solutions jointly with public sector customer representatives.

The first working meeting will take place on 28 August in the Kazan IT Park, which is simultaneously hosts a blockchain hackathon held in conjunction with the conference “Blockchain: New Oil of Russia”. The hackathon in Kazan is organized by the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and the Kazan IT Park. VEB intends to hold the next Blockchain Pitch event on 6 October at the Forum of Innovative Financial Technologies Finopolis 2017, in Sochi.
