Sergey Gorkov made a business trip to Orsk, Orenburg Region. There he met with Orenburg Region Governor Yuriy Berg and Orsk Mayor Andrey Odintsov. The delegation also visited the Orsk Bacon facilities.
The delegates discussed the current standing and development prospects of the manufacturing facilities in the Orenburg Region funded by Vnesheconombank. The Bank decided to provide additional funding to finance phase 2 of Orsk Bacon construction.
Sergey Gorkov: “The VEB Group has invested over RUB19bn in seven projects in the Orenburg Region and therefore has a sincere interest in their stable operation and sustainable development. Today, a decision was made to provide extra RUB1bn to expand the Orsk Bacon production base. The commissioning of the second pig production unit by the end of 2017 is expected to boost the plant’s capacity to 14,000 tpa.”
The scaling-up includes the commissioning of a second SVK-2 manufacturing unit, which includes a complete pig-breeding cycle complex, an elevator and feed and slaughter units. Putting the second pig production unit into operation will allow Orsk Bacon to double its share of the pig market, ensuring a 20% increase. As competition grows, the company is planning to expand its presence to other markets.
