VEB and Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia sign cooperation agreement

Vnesheconombank and the Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia entered into a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by Senior Vice President, Head of Expert Analytics Dmitry Ivanchenko and Acting Rector Alexander Majouga.

The agreement provides for a long-term and efficient cooperation with the goal of implementing the state policy of innovation drawing on developments in science, education and high technologies.


“In line with its new strategy and with a focus on designated industry priorities, VEB is taking a proactive position in building partnership relations with leading sectoral associations and higher educational establishments. We are creating Russia’s largest platform for our projects. The platform will unite many thousands of experts and enable VEB to obtain expedited first-class expert review. This cooperation agreement will help the Bank to significantly expand its expert base. I am confident that the participation of University specialists in the expert and analytical work at the stage of preliminary and comprehensive expert review of projects will substantially improve the quality of preparation for projects on polymer chemistry, rare-earth metals, new substances and pharmaceuticals,” said Dmitry Ivanchenko at the signing ceremony.

“The University views cooperation with Vnesheconombank as an opportunity to take the lead in chemical engineering and biotechnology, shape its science and technology agenda, accomplish tasks set by the government with regard to skilled workforce and scientific research, and assist VEB in building its project portfolio, in particular, in polymer chemistry, rare-earth metals, new substances and pharmaceuticals,” pointed out Alexander Majouga.

Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia is the leader among Russia’s technical universities. According to QS international rating agency, UCTR ranks among Top 150 BRICS universities. In 2016, UCTR was included in the QS World University Rankings by Subject - Chemistry.

The University is widely recognized in the global academic community. Scientists at the University develop unique technologies and create new substances for high-technology sectors of the Russian economy and defence industry. The scientific topics of the University embrace almost all areas of chemistry, chemical engineering, petrochemicals and biotechnology, and conform with development priorities for Russian science, technology and engineering.
