VEB Team and Other Participants in the Heroes Race Banking Championship to Promote The Joy of the Old Age Foundation

VEB and the Heroes Race sports and military games organiser are holding the first-ever Banking Championship, which will bring together employees of banks, and insurance and investment companies. Currently, there are over twenty platoons already set up.

One of the event’s purposes is to donate 20 percent of the funds racers earn to The Joy of the Old Age charity foundation to support elderly people in residential care homes. As the Foundation’s partner, VEB is carrying out a joint charity project “Dreams Have No Age Limit!” with its employees working as volunteers in the residential care homes sponsored.

The Banking Championship is scheduled to start at 10:00 (Moscow time) on Saturday, July 1st, on the Alabino military training grounds in the Moscow Region. The racers are to take on a 8km cross country run with obstacles.

“We are happy that our banking championship initiative has gained traction and support among the colleagues. No matter how difficult the run is, I am sure that it is not only an opportunity for all racers to test their physical abilities but also to show their team spirit and camaraderie in face of the obstacles before them. The project has an important social mission: a portion of the proceeds are earmarked for the elderly,” Vnesheconombank Chairman Sergey Gorkov stressed.
