Roman Repin has been appointed Vnesheconombank Senior Director and Head of the Strategic Development Department. He will focus on the development and introduction of VEB’s new strategy and business model.
In December 2016, the VEB Supervisory Board approved the Bank’s Strategy 2021. The strategy envisions the priority involvement of Vnesheconombank in promoting “catching-up” industries (downstream industries, support of non-mineral exports, infrastructure, etc.) and, in particular, rapid development, including quantum technologies, blockchain and neuro- and biotechnologies.
Roman Repin graduated from the M.V. Lomonosov University of Moscow with honors in 2004 (Master of Geology), and in 2012 from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business (MBA). Until 2010 he worked for transnational oil servicing companies. From 2010 to 2013, while working at the A.T.Kearney transnational consulting company, he consulted major companies in the industrial, mineral production and power engineering segments on issues of strategic development and operational effectiveness. From 2013 to 2017 Roman Repin held key posts in the departments of strategic development of mining and metallurgical companies in Russia such as the Norilsk Nickel Mining and Metallurgical Complex and Siberian Coal Power Generation Company.
