Vnesheconombank financed export sales of SukhoiSuperjet 100 aircraft to Ireland

Vnesheconombank financed the export sales of threeSukhoiSuperjet 100 aircraft manufactured by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company to Ireland’s carrierCityJet.

Two aircraft are already being operated by the Irish airline. The third aircraft was delivered by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and SuperJet International on 27 October 2016 in Venice.

A fixed export contract provides for the delivery of fifteen aircraft, with another sixteen aircraft to be supplied in compliance with an option agreement.

DaniilAlgulyan, Vnesheconombank’s Senior Vice-President for Export Finance and Documentary Operations, pointed out that the CityJet contract with the deliveries having started in May 2016 gave Russian civil aviation products an access to a highly competitive European market.

Importantly, the majority of the SukhoiSuperjet 100 export sales were financed with Vnesheconombank’s participation. VEB has been actively engaged in financing SukhoiSuperjet 100 airliners since 2013. Overall, the Bank provided funding for over 20 airliners exported to the EU and Latin American markets.

SukhoiSuperjet 100 is a Russian regional airliner designed and produced by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company with financial support from Vnesheconombank. Currently, twelve Russian and foreign air carriers operate 83 aircraft making flights to more than 150 destinations.
