Vnesheconombank Group posts profit of 14.9 billion rubles under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for 2015

Vnesheconombank published consolidated financial statements under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for 2015.

Vnesheconombank Group’s key indicators for 2015:

  • Vnesheconombank Group’s net profit for 2015 amounted to 14.9 billion rubles against a loss of 249.7 billion rubles in 2014. This result was substantially influenced by the Russian Government’s decision to extend by five years the deadline for placing foreign currency funds of the National Wealth Fund on VEB’s subordinated deposits as well as a substantially reduced interest rate on them and the establishment of a three-year grace period for interest payments.
  • Net interest income was 67 billion rubles and this is 33.3 billion less than in 2014 (100.3 billion rubles).
  • Interest incomes increased by 45 billion rubles to 325.3 billion rubles from 2014. The main influence was exerted by the growth in customers interest incomes by 47.3 billion rubles to229.8 billion rubles.The amount of interest incomes on investment bonds and on financial leasing increased too – by 5.4 and 5.3 billion rubles respectively.
  • The amount of capital increased by 27% to 480.9 billion rubles. At the same time authorized capital increased by 27.5 billion rublesas a result of monetary contribution made by the Bank of Russia.
  • Customers loan portfolio increased by 318.9 billion rubles to 2 581.2 billion rubles. The total percentage of customers credits in VEB Group’s assets increased from 58% to 59% from the start of 2015.
  • Expenses on forming reserves against depreciation of assets and other reserves amounted to 314.1 billion rubles in 2015 against 326.1 billion rubles in 2014.
  • In 2015, in its capacity as a development institution, VEB continued to fund projects significant for the Russian economy. Various facilities under 18 investment projects were put into operation including in such sectors as agro-industrial complex, power engineering and transportation. In 2015, the Bank extended new credits for a total amount of about 100 billion rubles.
