Financing development institutions of Russia and Belarus agree on partnership in implementing export projects

In the course of the first session of the Council of EEU Development Banksin the city of Sochi, State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ and OJSC Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus entered into an agreement of intent to organize mutual financing of export credits.

On behalf of Vnesheconombank the agreement was signed by Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev and on behalf of OJSC Development Bank of Belarus - by Board Chairman Segrei Rumas.


The parties have agreed to consider their participation in export projects of Russian and Belarussian companies and raise funds for financing agreed-on projects by way of providing mutual credit lines.

The financing development institutions are also planning to explore the possibility of raising funds to finance joint Russian-Belarussian export projects on third countries’ markets.

This agreement’s implementation would help to enhance and expand trade-economic cooperation between Russia and Belarus and would make it possible to significantly increase the portfolio of joint projects.

At present, Vnesheconombank is considering a number of projects that might be implemented with the participation of counterparties from the Republic of Belarus. These are projects in heavy, energy and transport mechanical engineering chemical and smelting industry.
