Conference on developing exports and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises held in the Primorsky Territory

A Conference “Anti-Crisis Programs for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises under the Conditions of Economic Transformations, Measures for Providing State Support to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Primorsky Territory. State Support for Exports” was held in the city of Vladivostok. The Conference was organized by Vnesheconombank Group with the assistance of the Export Development Center of the Primorsky Territory and the Primorsky Territory Administration. The Conference was held as part of the educational project “Training of Specialists - Participants in Investment Projects Implemented with the Assistance of Development Institutions”, and as part of the Plan for the Comprehensive Development of the Primorsky Region’s Territories for a Period from 2013 to 2018.

The Conference’s experts were representatives of the Russian Economic Development Ministry, the Primorsky Territory Administration, the Export Development Center of the Primorsky Territory, the Regional Integrated Center of the Primorsky Territory, as well as Vnesheconombank and its subsidiaries including JSC SME Bank, OJSC VEB-Leasing, the Russian Export Center, JSC ROSEXIMBANK and JSC EXIAR.

Besides plenary sessions on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises there were also specialist workshops in the Conference’s program. As part of the Conference there were crush tests of regional projects for their compliance with JSC SME Bank’s Financial Support Program. The crush tests were held for executives of small and medium-sized enterprises. Through various examples specialists showed what projects could count on the state’ support and what aspects should be finalized at this. In their turn, entrepreneurs, focusing on exports of products had a look at programs of providing financial, guarantee and insurance support for foreign- economic activity on the part of Vnesheconombank Group and were advised by Vnesheconombank Group’s experts on how to tap foreign markets.

Providing support for developing the Far East is one of Vnesheconombank Group’s top-priority lines of activity. As of September 2015, 16 investment projects on the territory of the Far East Federal District have been already implemented and are being implemented. Their total value is 645.7 billion rubles, with Vnesheconombank’s participation share being343.3 billion rubles. SME Bank extended credits to more than 530 enterprises in the Primorsky Territory for an amount of about 4.5 billion rubles.

In the attendance of the Conference were more than 130 executives of small and medium-sized enterprises of the Primorsky Territory that are planning to develop business and enter foreign markets. The Conference was also attended by specialists of regional commercial banks that are interested in providing support for SMEs.

The Educational Project “Training Specialists – Participants in Investment Projects Implemented with the Assistance of Development Institutions” was developed by Vnesheconombank and is designed to create a qualitative professional environment in preparing and implementing investment projects. Since 2009, more than 3500 specialists have participated in the project.
