Vnesheconombank’s Development Award presented at the Petersburg International Economic Forum

The Development Award ceremony was held as part of the Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Award was instituted by Vnesheconombank.

This year’s Development Award went to the following projects:

  • In the nomination the “Best Infrastructure Project”: construction of a Medical Industrial Park in the Novosibirsk Region by CJSC Innovation Medical-Technological Centre (Technopark, the Novosibirsk Region).
  • In the nomination “theBest Project in Industrial Sectors”: Creation of the Far Eastern Deep Wood Processing Centre in Amursk, Khabarovsk Region, with its own Logging Operation: OAO Dallesprom (Khabarovsk Region).
  • In the nomination “the Best Project on the Comprehensive Development of Territory”: Creation and Development of Automobile Plants in the Kaliningrad Region in 1996–2020, a project of AVTOTOR holding (Kaliningrad Region);
  • In the nomination the Best Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Project: Development and Marketing of Innovative Products, immunochromatographic test strips to diagnose myocardial infarction on the basis of enzymes that bind fatty acids: OOO OFK KARDIO (Kaluga Region)

The awards were presented by Sergei Ivanov, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, and Vladimir Dmitriev, Chairman of Vnesheconombank.

Opening the ceremony, Sergei Ivanov said that it was important that such projects should be supported not only by the state but also by professional or civil society. The Development Award aims to inform citizens of our country about notable, real achievementsmade by our domestic companies, regions and energetic, creativepeople. This is the spirit of this Award.

Congratulating the winners, Vladimir Dmitriev said,“Geography of projects submitted to the competition is expanding and the range of sectors included in applications is also expanding. The four declared nominations should be expanded to include the Bank’s and regions’ top-priority lines of activity. These are above all projects designed to support Russia’s industrial exports as well as high-technology innovation projects”, he added. Within a period of several months the CompetitionCommittee received 231 applications from 61 regions of the Russian Federation. Most of the applications were in the nomination “the Best Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Project” – 99, in the nomination “the Best Project in Industrial Sectors” – 66, in the nomination “the Best Project on the Comprehensive Development of Territories” – 37 and in the nomination “the Best Infrastructure Project” – 29. As a result, 12 projects were selected.

A project’s inclusion in a list of Award nominees testifies to the fact that the Russian economic community recognizes the project’s contribution to the country’s socio-economic development. Participation in the Development Award contest contributes to popularizing Russia’s best practices in effective investment management and to creating a favorable investment climate in a region.
