Vnesheconombank Chairman Decorated with the Order of Saint Blessed Prince Daniil Moskovsky I Degree

His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill decorated Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev with the Order of Saint Blessed Prince Daniil Moskovsky I Degree at the Trinity Cathedral of the Danilov Monastery.

The Order was presented for supporting construction, charity and humanitarian projects of the Russian Orthodox Church and in connection with V. Dmitriev’s 60th anniversary. Under its charity program Vnesheconombank is to provide the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) with 320 million rubles to support projects on the construction and restoration of orthodox cathedrals. A project on the erection of the Monastery of Saint George the Victorious has been underway since 2011in Gotschendorf (Germany). Vnesheconombank is active in supporting the Patriarchal Center for the Spiritual Growth of Children and Youth at the Danilov Monastery. In the past years monetary funds have been transferred for repairing service lines and equipping the Center as well as implementing its youth programs. The Bank participates in the construction of a Pilgrim Center of the Holy Trinity-St Sergius Lavra and the Trinity Orthodox School at the Cathedral of the Icon of Our Lady of Kazan (Moscow, the Trinity district, the village of Puchkovo). The Bank provides support for the Solovetsky Monastery, the orthodox parish of the Reverend Saint Sergiy Radonezhsky in the city of Johannesburg (the Republic of South Africa) and many other monasteries and cathedrals.

The Order of Saint Blessed Prince Daniil Moskovsky is an award that was instituted in December of 1988 by the Holy Synod to commemorate 1000 years of baptizing of Russia and devoted to Saint Daniil of Moskovsky. The Order that has three degrees is presented to clergymen and secular persons for their merits in the revival of spiritual life in Russia.

Since 1988 the Order of Saint Blessed Prince Daniil Moskovsky I Degree has been awarded to Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, Raul Castro, Evgeny Primakov and many others.
