Vnesheconombank, OJSC Gazprom Space Systems and LLC Gazprom Investproject Sign Agreement on Cooperation

In the course of the International Aerospace Salon (MAKS-2013) State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’, OJSC Gazprom Space Systems and LLC Gazprom Investproject signed a trilateral agreement on cooperation.

The parties intend to cooperate in implementing the following investment projects:

  • Setting up a production facility for assembling domestic space vehicles for the Yamal communications systems and the space observation system SMOTR in the Moscow region in the city of Shchelkovo;     
  • Organizing the development of a space observation system SMOTR (including Arctica–R radar segment).

Under the agreement Vnesheconombank is to explore the possibility of funding these projects.

The said projects’ implementation would help to enhance the development of telecommunications services in Russia for addressing issues of state administration and corporate governance as well as create a new system of Earth remote sensing in arctic regions in the interests of various sectors of the national economy thus making it possible to create new high-skilled jobs and increase budgetary tax revenues.
