Vnesheconombank acted as a general partner of the Medici Treasures exhibition that opened in the Moscow Kremlin Ivan the Great Bell-Tower Complex.
The exhibition is staged as part of the Italian Culture Year in Russia. The display features more than one hundred 15th -18th century works of art of the Medici Treasures that belong to the Palazzo Pitti’s Silver Museum, the Uffizi Gallery and other Florence museums.
It’s the first display in Russia that features masterpieces from Florence’s famous dynasty’s collection: wonderful glyptics, the unique Florentine-style mosaics, ivories, small bronze plastics, jewelry.
Works of art that once belonged to members of the powerful dynasty are displayed alongside the Medici Family portraits.
The display is of great interest to the general public and is designed to promote cultural ties between Russia and Italy.
The exhibition runs until August 1, 2011
