Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev Becomes Head of PPP Department at the Finance University

A ceremony of opening a public private partnership department was held at the Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

A new department headed by Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev was established by the Bank jointly with the Finance University. The department will engage employees from Vnesheconombank’s key structural subdivisions, the Bank’s partner companies as well as leading expert practitioners and specialists from the International PPP center under the UN EEC as lecturers.

The PPP department’s activity is designed to expand the range of educational programs related to public private partnership, training, retraining, professional development of managers and specialists in the field of PPP, doing research in order to provide support for developing PPP in the Russian Federation.

As its contribution to supporting the PPP department, Vnesheconombank handed over teaching materials on the discipline “Formation and Development of Public Private Partnership on the Territory of the Russian Federation” to the Finance University. These materials will be used to work out curriculums of basic special disciplines.

From the new academic year (September of 2011), the PPP department is to run three training programs aimed at retraining and professional development of civil servants of federal executive authorities of the Russian Federation, executive authorities of the Russian constituent entities, local authorities as well as heads and leading specialists of profit and nonprofit organizations participating in PPP projects and agreements. Master’s programs and training under Bachelor’s programs are scheduled to start in 2012 when the PPP department will open its postgraduate and doctoral courses.
