Vnesheconombank Holds Conference “Development of Corporate Governance in Vnesheconombank’s Group”

A Conference “Development of Corporate Governance in Vnesheconombank’s Group” was held at Vnesheconombank today.

The Conference’s main themes were the improvement of the corporate governance system at Vnesheconombank as well as promoting interaction with the subsidiary institutions within Vnesheconombank’s Group.

In the course of the Conference its participants discussed topical issues of corporate governance in Russia and focused on the functioning of the corporate governance system in Vnesheconombank’s Group including its legal aspects. The speakers stressed that it was necessary to adopt a Corporate Governance Code in Vnesheconombank’s Group as well as upgrade operational procedures for collegiate bodies responsible for managing Vnesheconombank’s subsidiary institutions, specifically, in IT technologies.

The Conference’s participants spoke in favor of using the best corporate governance international standards in Vnesheconombank’s Group, discussed an issue of obtaining corporate governance rating, introducing an institute of corporate secretary, establishing a Corporate Governance Committee.

The speakers at the conference were representatives of management teams, Vnesheconombank’s key subdivisions and subsidiary institutions – OJSC Belvnesheconombank, LLC VEB-Engineering, LLC VEB Capital, OJSC VEB-Leasing, CJSC GLOBEXBANK, OJSC NTB, Prominvestbank, The Russian Development Bank (OJSC), Svyaz-Bank (OJSC).

As a result of the Conference an outcome document is scheduled to be signed. The document is designed to improve the level of corporate governance in Vnesheconombank’s Group.
