Vnesheconombank Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with the Eurasian Development Bank

Today, on March 30, in the course of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov`s working visit to Astana (Kazakhstan) Vnesheconombank and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The Memorandum was signed by Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev and EDB Board Director Igor Vinogenov.

The Memorandum aims to promote infrastructure projects, increase the output of high technology, high value-added products, create new jobs in the industrial sector, power engineering, transportation and in other Russian and Kazakh industries.

Under the Memorandum the two sides are determined to finance certain joint mid-and-long-term investment projects, export transactions, exchange best practices and expertise in relevant business fields.

The Memorandum provides for promoting cooperation between the two banks to carry out joint projects. It seeks to expand economic cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan.

The Eurasian Development Bank is an international financial institution, a subject of international law. The Bank was founded by the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation to help boost market-oriented economy in the two countries, encourage their sustainable economic growth and promote mutual trade and economic ties.
