Vnesheconombank Fist Deputy Chairman Nikolay Kosov named Best Banker of Russia

Vnesheconombank First Deputy Chairman Nikolay Kosov was named the Best Banker of Russia for the year 2006. Chairman of the Contest’s Organizing Committee, Chairman of the Russian Accounting Chamber Sergei Stepashin presented the award.

The Contest “The Best Banker of Russia» was founded in 2005 by the Expert- Consulting Council under the Chairman of the Russian Accounting Chamber, Publishing House “Financial Control,” the Association of Russian Banks, the Association of Regional Banks of Russia and Journal “Banking Law.” The Contest aims to identify lending institutions’ best executives of the year.

As it was mentioned at the ceremony, Nikolay Kosov was nominated for this award for his major contribution to the development of the national banking sector.

Nikolay Kosov, candidate of economic sciences, has been working in the Bank since 1998. N. Kosov is in charge of many lines of the Bank’s business including investment, planning, human resources recruitment, foreign relations and etc. He made a great contribution to formulating a concept of the development institution being established on the basis of Vnesheconombank.

N. Kosov was awarded the Order of Honour and medals of the Order “For the Services to the Fatherland”, first and second grade for his great contribution to the development of the Russian Federation’s financial system and hard work of many years. On June 30, 2005, he was thanked officially by the order of the Russian President for his achievements in the financial and economic activity and hard work of many years.
