An annual corporate sporting festival “Partners of the 21st Century” was held at Moscow’s stadium “Yantar” on May 26. For six years running, the sporting festival has brought together a great number of competitors and spectators from among the Bank’s employees, their families, the Bank’s partners companies and guests.
The tournament became the Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the USSR’s last sporting event. In the future, the Development Bank will be responsible for holding such events. Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev said that taking into account the greater potential of the future Development Bank certain programs associated with sports, culture, the Russian Orthodox Church and the pediatric healthcare would be expanded.
Traditionally, the main event of the festival was a football tournament between the teams of Vnesheconombank, Vneshtorgbank, the Russian Finance Ministry, the Presidential Administration’s trade union organization and the Russian Black Sea Navy. In the final match Vnesheconombank won with the score of 6:0. VTB took second place, and the Black Sea Navy – third place.
Despite the unprecedented heat, VEB’s departments and the Russian Development Bank’s and Roseximbank’s teams competed fiercely for the Cup of Vnesheconombank’s Chairman. And the guests enjoyed participating in the sports entertainments.
